(October 17, 2003) -- RiverStone Hotel Partners today announced the groundbreaking of the 110-room Hilton Garden Inn®, in Kankakee, Ill., which is expected to open in early summer, 2004. RiverStone Hotel Partners, under a license agreement with Hilton Hotels, Inc., the franchise subsidiary of Beverly Hills-based Hilton Hotels Corporation, is developing the newly constructed Hilton Garden Inn Kankakee. RiverStone Hotel Partners is comprised of Tim and Robert Dora, and the Precedent group (both of Indianapolis). Dora Brothers Hospitality Corporation (Indianapolis) will direct the management of the hotel. “The Hilton Garden Inn concept will be a perfect compliment to the needs of Kankakee County. Not only does it bring the Hilton Garden Inn brand to Kankakee, it provides a unique, affordable and comfortable place to stay for business or leisure travelers when visiting the area,” said Tim Dora, a principal with Dora Brothers Hospitality Corporation. Ideally situated at the U.S. 45/52 exchange and Exit 308 off Interstate 57, the four-story Hilton Garden Inn Kankakee will feature: a signature glass-walled pavilion housing the reception desk; a Pavilion Pantry® with a selection of refrigerated, frozen and microwaveable packaged items, and sundries; the Great American Grill® restaurant, offering freshly prepared breakfast; a comfortable lounge area with a television and fireplace; 19,000 square feet of flexible meeting space in the adjacent RiverStone Conference Center; a 24-hour, complimentary business center; and an on-site laundry facility. Guest room accommodations and features will include: a hospitality center with a microwave oven, coffee maker and mini refrigerator; a sitting area with an east chair and ottoman; a hairdryer; and an iron and ironing board. In-room entertainment and information services include on-demand movies, video games and interactive Hilton guest services. Business-oriented features of the guest rooms will include: high speed wireless Internet in every room; a spacious work desk with a pull-out shelf for a portable computer; adjustable lighting; an ergonomic chair; electrical outlets at desk height; and two telephones equipped with data ports, voice mail and speaker phone. Recreational facilities will consist of a fitness room, indoor swimming pool and whirlpool. Guests can also find award-winning golf courses and other recreational opportunities nearby at the state fairgrounds or the state park.
