Indoor Ice Arena and Fitness Center Kankakee Community College Continues Partnerships for Community Growth Wal-Mart Supercenter Located east of the new Hilton Garden Inn at exit 308 is a new Wal-Mart Supercenter. The plan includes 189,000 square feet of retail space and will offer customers nearly 100,000 products, combining full grocery lines and general merchandise under one roof. More details... Prairie Walk Subdivision - a division of MGS Financial Partners, LLC Our neighbors to the north and east, within the 1,000 acre master plan, will be constructing 1,000 rooftops in the next 5 years. Hilton Garden Inn Kankakee & RiverStone Conference Center The Hilton Garden Inn has 110 guest rooms and one dividable meeting room. The Chicago Bear’s Summer Training Camp Chicago Bear’s Summer Training Camp records thousands of visitors on a single day. Olivet Nazarene University continues to make each training camp unique and well worth bringing the entire family. It is anticipated that the number of visitors will grow substantially. Area businesses could not be happier. Proposed South Suburban International Airport 19 miles north of RiverStone is the new proposed home of Chicago’s third airport in Peotone, Illinois. Land is being purchased according to the Secretary of the Illinois Department of Transportation, “This facility is supported by Congress, the Mayor of Chicago, and the Governor of Illinois”. The impact of the airport is already reflected in the growth of many nearby communities. Wilmington Industrial Storage Facility The city of Wilmington, Illinois, located 26 miles to the northwest of RiverStone, will have the largest industrial storage facility in the nation in anticipation of the needs of the South Suburban Regional Airport. Community Water Park “Splash Valley” opened June 2004. The water park is a facility owned and operated by the Kankakee River Valley Park District. More details... O.A.K. Indoor Ice Arena and Fitness Center A $6.4 million investment from the Kankakee Valley Park Districts completes Valley Centre Ice Arena and K.C.C. Fitness Center. It is located on the east side of Kankakee Community College and is a part of the RiverStone 1,000 acre master plan. This will be another “sports” asset to the community. It is located within a half block of Splash Valley and the National City Softball Complex. Kankakee Community College Continues Partnerships for Community Growth To the north of RiverStone is the beautiful campus of Kankakee Community College. An Arts & Sciences facility just opened to students and work has now begun on the development of the Health Careers Center for Excellence on campus. More details... |
